Former Australian great cricketer Shane Warne and current captain of South Africa Graeme Smith are reportedly going to appear in a Bollywood movie alongside Shilpa Shetty, who is one of the co-owners of IPL team Rajasthan Royals which is led by Warne. While Warne is captain as well as coach of Rajasthan Royals, Smith is the opener of the team- meaning both of them are two key players for Rajasthan Royals.

When asked about acting in a Bollywood film, Shane Warne said that both he and Smith were ready to sign a deal for a Bollywood movie. He then made fun, stating that he was going to show Shilpa Shetty some tricks. Shane Warne led Rajasthan Royals both on and off the field to win IPL 2009 title. Involvement of cricketers in Bollywood is nothing new in India. In fact, many cricketers in the past appeared in Bollywood movies. Brett Lee, once team mate of Shane Warne in Australian team, has also appeared in a Bollywood movie titled Victory which got released this year. Now, let us see if Bollywood fans would be able to see Shane Warne and Graeme Smith alongside Shilpa Shetty in a Bollywood film in future.

The title might lead you to think Bollywood’s famous father and son are not in good terms at this moment. In fact, Big B has recently asked director Sujoy Ghosh to replace his son Abhishek Bachchan with Riteish Deshmukh for the film titled Aladin, which is based on the Arabian story of Aladin and Genie. Sujoy approached Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan together for the movie, but Big B does not want to work with his son together in the film and advised Sujoy to cast Riteish in place of Abhishek. Why?

Well, there is nothing negative and you should not go to find anything controversial. In fact, the father and son are in good relationship. The reason not to work alongside Abhishek in Aladin is that the two are already working for the film Pa where the real life father and son will be seen in the same roles and that is why, Amitabh Bachchan does not want to work with his son once again. Rather, he wants to work with someone new. Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan together churned out successful movies like Sarkar, Sarkar Raj and Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna in the past. Now, let us see if Sujoy Ghosh signs Riteish Deshmukh in place of Abhishek as per the advice of Amitabh Bachchan.

This year’s Oscar winning movie Slumdog Millionaire has already been the centre of all attention in world media and all of its stars have been turned into a celebrity overnight. Slumdog Millionaire’s child artist Rubina Ali, who was born and brought up in a slum in India, has now been the newspaper headline once again, but this time only for wrong reason. A British newspaper claimed that Rubina Ali’s father Rafiq Qureshi tried to sell her star daughter to an Arabian family who were interested to adopt the star girl, and Rafiq demanded 200000 pounds from the family.

However, Rafiq dismissed the report. He said that he had met an Arabian sheikh in a hotel in order to discuss about an ad film for his daughter. However, the website claimed that some journalists were present at the hotel in disguise of Arab Sheikh to whom Rafiq met. According to the website, Rafiq said that he was going to sell his daughter, seeking a better life for his family as well as for his daughter.

Meanwhile, Rubina Ali’s mother Kushi does not want her daughter to be sold off and she has accused her husband for attempting to sell her daughter for money. Rather, Kushi wants Rubina to be sent to a boarding school where her daughter would have access to education. No doubt that is what people of all sphere of life want to see at this moment. Rubina Ali is a talented girl who could flourish her acting potential in future if she is provided with due support and necessary guidance.

When Shah Rukh Khan joined Bollywood industry following an unsuccessful stint as a television actor, Aamir Khan had already been a big star of Bollywood thanks to some of his all time box office hits like Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, Dil and Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin. Shah Rukh Khan is now a brand name in Bollywood and has already become one of the mega stars of Bollywood alongside the stars like Aamir Khan, Salman Khan and Amitabh Bachchan.

Shah Rukh Khan has revealed some unknown things of his life in the recently launched book titled Shah Rukh Can which is written by Shah Rukh Khan’s friend Mushtaq Sheikh. The book also reveals that Shah Rukh Khan did not want to be a romantic hero and avoided romantic roles during his early days in the industry. In fact, it was Aditya Chopra who convinced Shah Rukh Khan to take up romantic roles. Shah Rukh Khan has also expressed in the book that he had huge respect for Amitabh Bachchan when he came into Bollywood, and considered him to be the biggest star of Bollywood.

Well, Shah Rukh Khan has not been in good terms with Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan. Now, let us see if his comments on the book would somehow spark another ‘war of words’.

Joining Bollywood is a big dream to many youngsters. Bollywood is also a lucrative destination for many movie stars of other movie industries in India. Bollywood, the Hindi film industry of India, saw many stars coming from several other film industries of the country. Asin made a big Bollywood debut last year with Ghajini which has become the highest grossed Bollywood movie ever. Recently, South Indian actress Laksmi Rai has also expressed her dream to join Bollywood.

However, Tollywood star Charmi seems to be different here. The beautiful actress has said that she does not want to join Bollywood and has also turned down some offers from Bollywood. Charmi, whose recent movies have not seen box office success, is confident about his career in Tollywood. That is why, she wants to keep her focus solely on Tollywood.

After writing a biographical book titled Still Reading Khan, writer Mushtaq Shiekh has written another book on Shah Rukh Khan. The new book is named Shah Rukh Can where, the writer says, has tried to portray the journey of a man who has turned a seemingly implausible dream into reality. Mushtaq Shiekh said that he had associated with many actors in his life, and found Shah Rukh Khan’s real life story very interesting which he felt tempted to share with others. This is the reason he has written a second book on the current Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan.

Mushtaq Shiekh has said that the first book Still Reading Khan is more of a photographical biography of the actor where the actor’s real life story was told mainly through photographs, while the latest book Shah Rukh Can is a book where everything is revealed through words. Due to use of lots of photographs, the first book which weighs about four kilos costs Rs 2995 which is not affordable for many of Shah Rukh Khan’s younger generation fans. The second book is priced at Rs 399 which is expected to be affordable for the young people including students.

Priyanka Chopra has turned down an offer made by director Siddharth Anand for his next directorial project starring Ranbir Kapoor. Well, it is not that Priyanka has refused to play the role because of Ranbir. The reason of her refusal is related to weight. For the role, Priyanka had to gain 20 kilos to her body which would have been very hard for Priyanka who has recently lost weight to appear with a slim look in the movie Pyaar Impossible which is produced by Yash Raj Flims.

Losing or gaining weight is very common among the movie stars for suiting the roles they are playing. Many stars in Bollywood have done this in the past with professional mentality. Well, I am not blaming Priyanka Chopra for turning down the role opposite Ranbir Kapoor because the actress was recently admitted into hospital for her illness and her health is not in the right condition to gain 20 kilos within a very short time, when she is trying to tone up her body for the movie Pyaar Impossible.

South Indian actress Laksmi Rai and Captain of Indian cricket team Mahendra Singh Dhoni are rumored to have been in a love affair. However, both of them dismissed all the reports making them romantically linked up. Now that, Laksmi Rai has shifted from Chennai to Mumbai, it seems that the actress want to stay closer to his love bird Dhoni. However, Laksmi Rai has said that shifting residence is just for making a career in Bollywood.

Well, some responsible sources in the media indicate that Dhoni was directly involved in her shift from Chennai to Mumbai and it was also reported that Dhoni had helped Laksmi Rai to find a suitable place in Mumbai. Dhoni has not made any comment on this yet as he has been avoiding questions regarding his love affair for sometime now. Now, let us wait and see what future unfolds for us.

Now, it seems that the two Khans will come face to face once again in July as Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film Dulha Mil Gaya and Salman Khan starrer Wanted are expected to be released on July 3, 2009. Earlier Wanted was scheduled to hit the screen on July 3, but now Viveck Vaswani directed, Dulha Mil Gaya, is also scheduled to hit the screen on July 3, a day before USA’s independence day- meaning a public holyday in USA where Shah Rukh Khan has a big fan following. That is why, director Viveck Vaswani wants to release the film on July 3 so that the film can make some good cash-in on July 4.

Dulha Mil Gaya has not been completed yet, but the director said that it would hit the screen in July as scheduled. Well, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan have not been in good terms since their heated bust-up last year. Now, it seems that the two are coming against each other; but this time with their upcoming films. No doubt, Salman and Shah Rukh fans will be keen to see which movie brings out more success in the box office and who between Salman and Shah Rukh become more successful more successful with their upcoming films.

Akshay Kumar has been announced as the highest tax payer among the Bollywood stars. He paid Rs 31 crore tax for his taxable income of Rs. 125-150 crore for the 2008-09 fiscal year. Income Tax Department of India has recently revealed the names of top ten tax payers of Bollywood. The second and the third spots in the list go to Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan respectively.

Shah Rukh Khan paid Rs 30.99 crore tax for his Rs 90.90 crore tax payable income. Aamir Khan secures the third place, while another star Salman Khan clinches the fourth place. The combined total of top ten tax payers of Bollywood for 2008-09 stands at Rs 107 crore, a 17.7 percent increase compared to previous fiscal year’s Rs 90.90 crore. So, it seems that economic recession did not make any big impact on Bollywood stars.

Akshay Kumar has extensive success over the last couple of years, churning out a number of big hits. Naturally, his income has also followed his success. So, I am not surprised to see Akshay Kumar becoming no. 1 tax payer in Bollywood.
