Year 2009 was the mixture of both good and bad for Bollywood movie industry. Movie lovers got both flop and hit movies. Multiplex owners were threatened by swine flu virus. It was a big problem for movie producers also. People did not go to the cinema hall because of this problem. However, I would like to urge you forget this year and think about New Year. Then, some of you may ask that what we got in 2009. Is Bollywood a good equalizer? In come cases we can say that it was equalizer. In one word, we can say that it was horrible year.
THE TIMES OF INDIA reported: Since we are BT, we present Bollywood — which is a good equaliser, it teaches us that life can be a bed of roses with the thorny underside, it reminds us that next Friday may not have the success of last Friday at the multiplexes, and that a critical success could often be a box-office failure. Films are a gamble, Bollywood trade pundits are still to figure out what works better for a producer — a great script and director or a super, multi-star cast. All permutations and combinations have been worked out by the industry. Yet, when release Friday comes, with it comes the visit to Siddhivinayak and Tirupati, the last-minute appeal to the Gods for a good opening, for a decent run and great returns. It works, sometimes it.
However, I think that Bollywood actors and actress will expect a better year in 2010. It will change their luck in a positive way.
