Amitabh Bachchan has been suffering from liver cirrhosis

Amitabh Bachchan has been suffering from liver cirrhosis. The disease destroyed 25% of his liver. Normally, this disease is common among alcoholic people but Amitabh Bachchan is not alcoholic. He contracted this disease in 1982 when he was severely injured from an accident while shooting Coolie. Mr. Bachchan broke the news on his official blog. IndiaGlitz reports:

Cirrhosis impairs the liver’s ability to control infections and process nutrients, hormones and drugs. The sensitivity of the disease requires Bachchan to stay under constant vigil and monitoring.

While shooting for a fight sequence, Amitabh Bachchan’s intestines were severely damaged. He remained ill for several weeks. At that time, Amitabh Bachchan’s fans around India prayed for his cure. He also received 60 bottles of blood from 200 volunteers. He underwent blood transfusion and one of the volunteers carried “Australian antigen hepatitis” which caused new problems. After doing various tests it has been assured that the antigen attacked his liver. Unfortunately, the existence of this antigen was not known at that time. Now, sixty seven year old Amitabh Bachchan has to undergo medical test on a regular basis.

Amitabh Bachchan is the living legend of Bollywood cinema. From a simple clerk working in a shipping company, he went on to become one of the biggest movie stars of the Indian cinema. He acted in numerous movies. Amitabh Bachchan’s son, Abhishek Bachchan and daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan are also well established actors in Bollywood cinema.

Best actor Amitabh Bachchan may not accept Filmfare awards this year

A cold war is going on between Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan and tabloid newspaper. Because of this fact, Amitabh Bachchan has boycotted the most prestigious ceremony Filmfare awards, which was organizing its 55^th ceremony this year. The 66-year-old actor was nominated as the best male actor for his movie “Paa” where he acted along with his son Abhishek Bachchan. It is thought that Amitabh Bachchan may not accept this award. Both Bachchans stayed out from this function. I think you already know that why they boycotted the award ceremony after Mumbai Mirror published news related about Bachchans. They wrote that Abhishek’s wife, former Miss World Aishwarya Rai could not give birth to baby. This year “Paa” won two awards. Its actress Vidya Balan won nominated as the best actress.

Prakash’s Gokula lives up to its promise

Famous Kannada director Prakash’s latest movie, Gokula, released in theaters on November 27, 2009 and it is definitely one of the top Kannada movies this year. Gokula tells the story of four orphans. They cheat on people to earn their livelihood but then one day they meet this old couple with whom they fall in love with and instead of cheating on them they end up saving them. The story of Gokula is nothing very extraordinary. The strong point of this movie is its narrative. Because of its extraordinary narrative, the movie, despite having very common themes, would not bore you. It has some great comedy sequences and melodramatic sequences.

Although there are few places where the director could have done better, such as the the climax. Among the actors, Sreenivasa Murthy and Sumithra provided a very good performance. Pooja Gandhi also did very well. The major credit goes to Vijaya Raghavendra and Yash, who were very energetic and lively althrough the movie. The music of Gokula has been composed by Mano Murthy and Satya Hegde took care of the cinematography. Overall, Gokula is a very neat and entertaining movie that you can enjoy with your family. Once again, Prakash has done good job with Gokula.

Big B highly praised Katrina in Bigg Boss

Amitabh Bachchan the mega star of Bollywood is currently hosting the reality TV show Bigg Boss and every week a celebrity comes to the show. This week Amitabh Bachchan was joined by Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif. The two came to promote their up coming movie ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’. While Amitabh Bachchan was all praised about Katrina Kaif and she said “Katrina is a modern demarvel from a non hindi peaking young shy and uncertain lady of whom she has grown and grown to become most desired actresses in our fraternity.” Amitabh also high praised Ranbir Kapoor. The first episode of Big Boss 3, which was aired on Color television on 4 October, generated a record TRP of 6.0, surpassing the first episode TRP of Kaun Banega Crorepati 3 in 2007. Shah Rukh Khan-hosted Kaun Banega Crorepati 3 generated a TRP of 5.8 which was so far a record in small screen.

Bigg Boss 3′ beat the first-episode ratings of Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain?’ (TRP of 4) aired last year and ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati-3′ (TRP of 5.8) in 2007.
‘Bigg Boss 3′ also overshadowed the opening TRP of reality shows like ‘Raakhi Ka Swayamvar’ on NDTV Imagine (TRP of 3.7), ‘Aap Ki Kachehri’ anchored by ex-policewoman Kiran Bedi for the second season (TRP of 3.4) and Akshay Kumar-anchored reality show ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi-2′, also on Colors, was at 3.

Amitabh Bachchan first made Kaun Banega Crorepati popular and turned his fate with the success of the reality show. Later on, Shah Rukh Khan was also successful as a host of the show. Shah Rukh Khan also found considerable success with Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain?. Now, it seems that Amitabh Bachchan is going to be successful with Big Boss 3 too.
