They go to different beautiful places around the world they get to reach and powerful people and they have huge fans and they are a lot of money but very few people knows how hard they have to work all day to survive in their career in their line of work. Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Not in a Rush for Marriage

November 03, 2009 By: Biplob Category: Bollywood, Kareena kapoor, Saif Ali Khan

Rumors doing the rounds suggest that Bollywood’s off-screen love bird Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor are planning to marry. The actress has said that she is talking to Saif about their marriage. However, Saif Ali Khan thinks that it is not the right time for their marriage as Kareena is going through perhaps the best time of her career. That is why, they are not in a rush for marriage.

Kareena Kapoor was earlier romantically linked with actor Shahid Kapoor, but the couple broke up just before the release of their 2007 hit Jab We Met. Saif, on the other hand, was married to actress Amrita Singh with whom he has two children, but the couple got separated in 2004.

Kurbaan: Another Trendy Bollywood Movie?

September 30, 2009 By: Biplob Category: Bollywood, Kareena kapoor, Saif Ali Khan

The current recipe of box office success in Bollywood is pretty much clear- few songs including one or two item numbers featuring body parts of ‘so called’ hot girls, one or two kissing scenes, some exaggerating fighting scenes, few turn and twists in the story and some common dialogues. That’s all you need to make a movie eatable in Bollywood. A number of movies like Dhoom 2, Race worked superbly well in the box office on the basis of this same recipe. Now, it seems that another movie is coming up next which could also feature the same recipe.

Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor starrer Kurbaan is all set top hit the screen on 27 November 2009. Directed by Rensil D’Silva, the movie is produced by Karan Johar and Hiroo Johar. Recently, Dharma Productions has released some of the pictures of Kurbaan where bare back of the lead actors Saif and Kareena created some buzz. The way the first look of the movie has been presented reminds me of another Saif Ali Khan starrer Race. Theatrical promo of Race included some of the kissing scenes between Saif and Bipasha, and that created some sparkle in the media and the movie worked well in the box office in the opening weeks. Now, it seems that producers are going to do the same with Kurbaan too.

Tashan : Movie review

April 25, 2008 By: admin Category: Akshay Kumar, Kareena kapoor, Saif Ali Khan

Title: Tashan

Director: Vijay Krishna Acharya

Production: Yash Raj Films

Music: Vishal – Shekhar

Cast: Anil Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor

Synopsis: Jimmy (Saif Ali Khan) is a call center executive who gets the opportunity to teach English to a gangster named, Bhaiyyaji (Anil Kapoor). Bhaiyyaji’s beautiful secretary, Pooja (Kareena Kapoor) uses Jimmy to steal Rs. 25 crore from Bhaiyyaji. Now, Bhaiyyaji wants his money back and their lives. Enter, hit man Bachchan Pandey (Akshay Kumar). Now what happens to Pooja and Jimmy? Will they return the money. The answer is, ‘I do not know.’ For that you have to watch the movie. If you are still confused whether you should watch the movie or not, here is a collection of various reviews about the movie. Go through it and decide.
Glamsham fan review dubbed Tashan “all style and no substance.” If further says:

The script lacks punch, and the direction lacks… well, direction. The fabulous four are doing their best, but they have little to do it with. A striking example of this is the lengthy speech in Hinglish that Anil Kapoor’s character is saddled with. It adds nothing to proceedings, at an early stage in the film, and triggers the first in a series of lame references to Hindi film titles, songs and heroes. If I told you that Akshay Kumar’s character in the film is called Bachchan, and that he ends up involved in a misunderstanding on a film set, I might have spoiled the most elaborate of these gags.

I love India praised the movie. It says that the movie is an all-in-all entertainer. The twisted plots will keep you engaged except few loop holes here and there.

Coming down to performances, Anil Kapoor is at his very best. His character as the don, who is dangerous, yet manages to tickle your funny bone, is flawless. Akshay Kumar again manages to take most of your applause. He plays his part to perfection and totally gets into the character. Kareena Kapoor is doing what she was supposed to do, look sexy. Nevertheless, she manages to deliver a good performance. After Omkara and Race, much more was expected from Saif. However, the role failed to do justice to him. All in all, if you are in for some entertainment, Tashan is a movie worth spending those bucks!

Bollywood Hungama review says that Tashan is one of the weakest movies to come out of Yash Raj films. It is just the disastrous repetition of history like Jhoom Barabar Jhoom,LAAGA CHUNARI MEIN DAAG,AAJA NACHLE. The main problem with the movie is that it tries to pull the crowd with its star cast. Movie goers taste has changed a lot. Big stars does not mean that people will run to the theatres. More over, the music was not very good quality. Vishal-Shekhar did injustice to their names and reputation. However, location, cinematography and script was good. The first half of the movie was really good but in the second half, the director lost his focus. In terms of performance, Akshay Kumar is the best. He is the USP of the movie. Karina’s role was FIDA type and she carried out well with skimpy outfits. However, Anil and Saif’s characters does not have much weight.

Feel the difference gives a positive review. Like Bollywood Hungama, it also praised Akshay Kumar and Anil Kapoor’s performance.

The script was tight and though there were some flaws, the brilliant screenplay kind of made up for the drawbacks. Music was excellent in terms of the background score and two numbers but nothing worthwhile to take home. The editing desk could have been a bit more crisp, full marks to the camera and the costume departments which have come up with a master’s job and skillful capturing of the moment. Coming to the cast, Kareena Kapoor was more of a glam doll and did her bit while Saif Ali Khan could not come out with his usual charms and presence.

Saturday Movie Show dubbed Tashan as a light entertainer. The movie is just a time pass. There is nothing very serious. Director, Vijay Krishna Acharya, lacks perfection but one good thing he knows is how to keep the audience engaged in the movie. The performance of the actors were average. It further says:

The movie can be labeled as a cartoon style film as well at times. Akshay Kumar Magic during the fighting, which overtakes spiderman, superman and all other cartoon characters. This Khilladi fights 100s at a time – Throw down at least 15 with his one push – Climb big walls and fight from middle when 50 people fire with machine guns – kill 100s and come out as unhurt. He can run like a cheetah and escape thousands of gun shots. It is hilarious as it intended that way. When the Killadi was doing all these, Saif tried a boat flight as well where he simply fly from the sea with a boat and fire just turning down the boat. The cartoon style was a matter of good laugh.

Though I have not watched the movie, I watched Jhoom Barabar Jhoom and in a way I feel that Tashan is a repetition of JBJ; very glamorous, very glossy but do not have a good story or good song. Still, I will go to watch the movie. Why? JUST FOR FUN!!

Tashan: A Welcome Back of Akshay Kumar in Action Genre

April 12, 2008 By: admin Category: Akshay Kumar, Bollywood, Kareena kapoor, Saif Ali Khan

Akshay Kumar is going to make a come back to action movie with his upcoming release Tashan. The Bollywood super star started his career as an action hero and his initial success in Bollywood came through action flicks. Once he was popular as an action hero and he could hardly get any role beyond action movies. However, over the last few years, Akshay Kumar has proved his versatility as an actor and churned out many box office hit movies. In fact, most of his box office success over the last couple of years came though comedy or romantic films. It seemed Bollywood fans were going to forget his action skill as success was coming under his cap through the movies of other genres. So, Tashan is a welcome back of Akshay Kumar to his root. Akshay Kumar himself is pretty much hopeful about the success of Tashan in the box office.

Planetbollywood reported:

While commenting about the release of ‘Tashan’, Akshay says, “I’m really excited about this film. It celebrates a return to the action genre for me and has given me the opportunity to showcase my physical and technical skills which, for me, are my art.

“ ‘Tashan’ marks a whole new concept in Bollywood action filmmaking which will certainly take the audiences by surprise, if not shock, as they will have seen nothing like this before. This is a film that will have universal appeal, not only for action film enthusiasts, but for anyone who appreciates top quality cinema with a real edge. ”

Tashan is an action packed thriller from Yash Raj banner and is expected to be one of the biggest hits of this year. The star studded film features Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Anil Kapoor in the lead roles besides Akshay Kumar. Akshay plays the role of gangster Bachchan Pande in the movie. Now, let us see if the movie makes a successful come back for Akshay Kumar in action movie.

Though the Bachchans are going to remain in the center of all attention, it is not yet confirmed if Jaya Bachchan would join her family members on the tour. Race Hindi movie : Movie Review

March 22, 2008 By: admin Category: Katrina Kaif, Saif Ali Khan, Sameera Reddy

It looks like Race is going to be the one of the big hits of 2008. The latest thriller made by Bollywood thriller masters Abbas-Mustan’s is an A-class entertainer. Sexy women in short clothes, handsome hunks, beautiful locations, good stunts, lots of songs with catchy rhythm and loud music (except ‘Pehli Nazar Mein’) is a good definition of a masala flick. On an average, the reviewers gave the movie a rating of 2.5/3 in 5 and 7 in 10. The major allegation against the movie makers- the story and narration is not so edgy. The good things about the movie: Allan Amin’s stunt sequences, Saif Ali and Akshaye Khanna’s acting and Bipasha and Katrina’s sex appeal (the last one works for me very well :)

Ok, now let us look at the reviews. What they say about the movie.

Glamsham gives it a rating of 2.5. According to the review, Race repeats the step-bro angle of Raqueeb. Moreover, the story is confusing, when did Bipasha and Saif meet to hatch a plan? What is the significance of Katrina Kaif? The directors failed to give a convincing story. However, Allan Amin is the true hero of the movie. His stunt works are fabulous. Anil is playing a Xerox copy character of Karamchand. Saif has done a great job. The movie is worth a watch.

Movie Blog gives Race 7 out of 10.

The cinematography, locations and camerawork are great and the movie has a great suspense script to make audience stick to screens but in later stages the story gets too intermingled and audience get confused of what’s happening. The music of the movie matches the script and music depiction is well shot.

The performance of Saif Ali Khan, Bipasha Basu, Anil Kapoor and Sameera Reddy is good. The movie may get good number of audience in metro and small cities where kids have completed their exams and are spending holidays.

According to Buzz 18, the promos of Race may make it look like Dhoom 2, there is not much action. Too much mind game in involved in the story. The story contains lots of twists and turns but at one point it becomes a major burden. The audience fails to connect the sub-plots stories.

The biggest plus point of Race is the fact that it is full of surprises. The screenplay packs in interesting twists and turns at regular intervals, keeping the shock value intact throughout the narrative. But beyond a point, this is the film’s biggest undoing. In the second half the proceedings tend to get too confusing for the average viewer, as you find yourself trying to connect the various subplots. A chain of events involving betrayal, murder and double crossing becomes a case of too much of a good thing. But none of the characters make predictable moves and thankfully the mystery stays within the six leads. Unlike Sunday, 36 China Town and many other thrillers there are no unnecessary character actors.

Akshaye is Abbas-Mustan’s favorite antagonist and he plays his role effortlessly. Saif also gave a solid performance. Bipasha and Katrina do not have much to do except reacting to the actors’ actions and dialogues. They actually work like spice for the movies appearing in short dresses. Anil’s character is not so strong and Sameera’s portrayal of a brainless-bimbo does not add much to the comic element of the movie. Overall, the film is lavishly shot movie with lots of twists but lacks a good narrative and it is worth watching.

MusicNmovies gave a very positive review with a rating of 4 in 5. The review claims that the story of the movie is inspired from a 1998 Hollywood movie, Goodbye Lover. The review says that Race is a movie with style and substance.

Movietalkies also gives a positive review of Race. It says,

Abbas-Mustan live up to their reputation and Race turns out to be a typical film of theirs replete with intriguing twists and turns as the web of deceit seems to encompass all. Except perhaps for its length, the film turns out to be quite enjoyable. It is made all the more so by the presence of Saif Ali Khan, who stands tall over the rest of the film’s cast.

Saif looks stunning in his rugged style. His performance throughout the movie was great. Akshaye Khanna also did a very good job but Anil does not add much to the comic element. Among the females Bipasha steals away most of the limelight. Katrina’s role neither have much presence in the movie, nor any significance.

Smashits review says,

Isn’t the dialogue archaic and dull with outdated words like `galat fehmi’ (misunderstanding) repeated throughout. Ravi Yadav’s camera handling is good and occasionally interesting. Background music is reminiscent of Dhoom, and here too, the film’s title is repeated in action sequences. Pritam’s music is good with songs like Bin Tere Sanam and Allah Duhai. However, other songs lack his usual charm. Action sequences are not eye-popping as one would expect.

Like always, Allan Amin’s action is good, but there’s nothing new to offer here, except perhaps a few races in snazzy sports cars. Bipasha and Katrina have stolen the limelight in every way. ….. ’Race’ provides it with the latest in glamour and sexy dialogue with its heroines always seen in short skirts and skintight shirts with first few buttons tantalizingly open! A critic has rightly suggested that the movie should have better been titled `Racy’.

Realbollywood dubs it a “Saif Ali Khan film” in terms of acting. It says

Directors Abbas and Mustan knew what they wanted to do with this film – give the viewers their money’s worth of thrills with an engaging plot, not a credible one.

They were not there to make a profound statement, only reiterate that Bollywood today can give audiences all the thrills that they have come to expect from Hollywood thrillers.

A stuntman from Australia who specializes in car chase and swivel was hired for the film. Not surprisingly Race is replete with car chases and crashes but we are not complaining.

However, Hindustantimes and Rediff came heavy-handed on the movie. Hindustan Times says:

Indeed, it would take super-brains — right from Aristotle and Plato to Amartya Sen — to decode Race, a crime-grime-adultery-disco-bomb-explosion thriller. Cars somersault, thud, bang and crash. A very hungry assassin, called Franco, looks as if he could do with potato mash. Meanwhile, the plot turns out to be a mega-rehash. Gnash.

So, what did you expect from conjoined directors Abbas-Mustan anyway? Their best work, alas, was their earliest, most notably Baazigar. Just compare the terrifying tumble-from-the-terrace killing there to the pure cornball skyscraper dive here. No fear, only jeers. Anything goes, explodes, whams, splatters in the name of MASS entertainment.

In the same condescending tone, Rediff writes:

Abbasbhai and Mustanbhai are veteran practitioners of the fatafat produced thriller, but this their biggest budget effort by far tries to be slick and stylish while actually trying to cling on to a plot. Therefore we have pointless, and constant, changes of direction to the story, at every given opportunity. There’s nothing wrong with unpredictability, but it needs to be thought through. A-M bhailog, these many twists suit jalebiwallahs better than filmmakers.

I think these are enough to give you an idea about the movie. Now, it is upto you to decide whether you should go or not. Personally, I will definitely go, Why? It is a great entertainer. Such a lavishly shot movie can best be enjoyed in the theatres where you can feel the real effect of the stunts and bangs. Finally, for Bipasha Basu and Katrina Kaif, they look very very sexy on the screen. HELL with the story man. I just want to be entertained.
