Today is 25^th February 2010. It is a birthday of Bollywood heartthrob actor Shahid Kapoor. Today, he has turned 29. It is obviously a special day for his fans. I think he has already got many wishes from his fans. However, I would like to give him my warmest wishes for birthday. I hope he will celebrate his birthday with his friends and family members.

No doubt, Shahid Kapoor is one of the most sought after actors in Bollywood. You can mention him one of the future super actors in Bollywood also. He is continuously performing well. Producers and directors also like to work with him. He has already given many hit films in his career. His fans can see him acting in flicks like “Chance Pe Dance” and “Kaminey”. He was first appeared as a dancer in Subhash Ghai’s “Taal” which was released in 1999. He made his Bollywood debut in “Ishq Vishk”. Because of his outstanding performance, he won Filmfare Best Male Debut Award. I think he will go far and will be a top actor in Bollywood.

Two big banner movies: Dil Bole Hadippa and Wanted- are going to hit the Bollywood screens coming Friday. A number of B-grade movies were released over the last one month. Naturally, Bollywood fans are desperately waiting for star-studded big banners films like Dil Bole Hadippa and Wanted. Distributed by Yash Raj Films and produced by Aditya Chopra, Dil Bole Hadippa stars Shahid Kapoor and Rani Mukherji in the lead roles. The movie is directed by Anurag Singh. The biggest advantage of the movie is that it is based on the theme of cricket, the most popular sports of the country.

Wanted also has an advantage and that is the new look of Salman Khan. The actor plays a action-based role in the movie and it is pretty much certain that the actor’s action image would attract his fans who are going to see the first movie starring their favorite Salman Khan in 2009. Directed by Tamil star Prabhu Deva, Wanted is a remake of Telegu hit Pokiri, which I also directed by Prabhu Deva.

It is expected that both the movies will do well in the box office as there will be a number of holidays coming up next week. In Uttar Pradesh, there will Agrasen Jayanti, while  Indian Muslims will celebrate Eid festival. In West Bengal, people will also celebrate their most sacred religion festival, Durga Puja. So, it seems that both the movies will have some advantage in the box office, but one thing is for sure that the two movies could affect each other when it comes to revenue.

Famous film director, Aziz Mirza last directed Shah Rukh Khan starrer Chalte Chalte in 2003. Now, after five years, he is back once again and this time, he is working with his son, Haroon Mirza, in Shahid Kapoor starrer Kismat Konnection. Kismat Konnection will arrive on Tips Banner in July.

Haroon Mirza started working with his father behind the camera. He assisted him in Yes Boss and Chalte Chalte. Haroon Mirza also wrote a script thinking about Shah Rukh Khan as the protagonist. Unfortunately, the movie did not see any light but Haroon Mirza got the opportunity to direct Shah Rukh Khan in Airtel and Hyundai Accent advertisement.

In Kismat Konnection Haroon Mirza is a co-director. This is a rare instance for any first time director has worked as a co-director along with established film maker.

Kismat Konnection is an NRI love story. Raj Malhotra is a top architecture student. In his college, he won the best student awards at a row for four years. After that things turn bad for him. He finds himself struggling in Canada. Finally, he finds his lucky charm Priya, a tough talking girl with a heart of gold.

After few months, Neeraj Pathak, script writer of APNE will direct his first movie with Sunny Deol. Pathak will work as a co-director with Sunny Deol who already directed a movie Dillagi.

You might have already heard about the upcoming world tour of Bachchans. The Unforgettable concerts now seem to be full of Bollywood mega stars. Besides Bachchan trio: Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwary Rai Bachchan, the stars like Saif Ali Khan, Shahid Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit will be seen performing in various venues of concerts.

Says a source close to the Bachchans, “Saif and Shahid showed absolutely no hesitation in joining the Bachchans on their tour. The price being offered was fine and the dates for the venues where they’ll perform were worked out to their convenience.
As for Madhuri it’d be the easiest thing in the world for her to join the Bachchans for the concerts in the US since that’s where she lives.”

There are many other stars who are going to join these mega stars on the tour to US and Europe. Though the Bachchans are going to remain in the center of all attention, it is not yet confirmed if Jaya Bachchan would join her family members on the tour. Having seen the bunch of stars to be participating on the concerts, it is almost certain that the Unforgettable concerts are going to be unforgettable forever.

Much hyped Bollywood movie, Jab We Met has hit the screens today and got average response from the moviegoers. Directed by Imtiaz Ali, Jab We Met has been released in 15 countries across the world. Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor play the lead roles of the movie. However, the break of Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor could not make it bigger in the opening day though it was earlier thought of. Jab We Met has done well in the first day but it is not so satisfactory.

However, Jab We Met has done very well compared to the other releases of this week. Anurag Kashyap’s No Smoking has come to closer in teems of competition with Jab We Met. At the evening shows of Jab We Met got comparatively good response than the previous shows.

Regarding the first day response of Jab We Met, Ibosnetwork reported:

The opening day bookings for Jab We Met is hovering at around 30% on limited screenings. That means, it will have to depend on word of mouth to generate large collections. (update: The film’s collections did show an upward tick by Friday evening with Saturday bookings at 60%). The duo’s previous films included Fida, 36 China Town, and Chup Chup Ke.
John Abraham & Ayesha Takia starrer No Smoking doesn’t seem set to smoke out the box office either. Its advance was lagging behind Jab We Met at around 20% on similarly low volume screenings.

Though the movie could not work well expectedly in the first day, Jab We Met got huge response from the moviegoers. In a whole, Bollywood fans liked the movie for its story as well as the performance of the two leading actors. No matter, even if the movie does not generate huge income for the producers and director Imtaiz Ali because almost everybody has raised their voice while praising Imtiaz Ali for his excellent performance. The music numbers also attracted the fans and were said to be well-suit with the story and environment.

In the first place, the movie based on a love story portraying two strangers in a journey to love has crossed the mind of the fans. Though it is said that the movie is a mixture of a number of Bollywood and Hollywood films, Jab We Met has something different in its story and in story telling. So, the movie has all the qualities to stand by its own.

Frankly, the story isn’t new. It has traces of the Abhishek – Ash starrer DHAAI AKSHAR PREM KE [2000; which, in turn, was inspired by A WALK IN THE CLOUDS] and Govinda – Urmila starrer KUNWARA [2000; which, in turn, was a remake of a Telugu film BHAVANAGARU BHAGUNNARA], but director Imtiaz Ali’s execution of the subject takes it to another level altogether.
To sum up, JAB WE MET is as refreshing as an ice-cold watermelon juice in scorching heat. Imtiaz Ali’s expert storytelling coupled with Shahid and Kareena’s sparkling performances make this film a must-watch!

So, no doubt, Imtiaz Ali could successfully present the story to the fans with the right environment. However, the two protagonists Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor have also impressed with their much expressive performances. However, it seems they must rethink about their relationship as both of them are getting huge positive responses from both the movie fans as well as from the critics.

For both Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor there are many more praises. Indicating their excellent performances the reports said that the two could suit the roles and make the roles alive. Moreover, writer also compared Kareena Kapoor with the Kajol of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai Pawan Malhotra and Dara Singh have also showed praiseworthy performances in the movie.

Shahid is wonderfully restrained and enacts his part with rare maturity. However, it is Kareena who with her spritely performance (though she is over the top, here and there, per chalta hai) is the star of the show. The music tracks of the movie were also earned a good response from the music lovers. In particular, “Mauja Hi Mauja” and “Yeh Ishq Hai” have touched the fans. Capable Director – I thought Imtiaz Ali’s first release Socha Na Tha was a decent effort, so hopefully Jab We Met would only be better.

So, Imtiaz Ali tried to introduce a train journey and the astounding railway stations in the movie. With the movie, Imtiaz Ali proves his talent once again. So, obviously Imtiaz Ali will get much inspiration to come up with many more movies for the fans of Bollywood.

Though the story of the movie has earned huge appreciation, there are some undecided questions over the story. It is true that those questions will not make any problem for the viewers to enjoy the films but the questions will remain constant.

1) Why does Shahid’s girlfriend marry someone else? Why does his business have problems (which by the way becomes an overnight success when Shahid returns to Bombay)? No explanations offered.
2) How does Shahid find Anshuman whom he’s never met? Unexplained.
3) Both leads seem to have no friends since there never is a mention of even one. Really strange. Usually when in problems related to family everyone talks to their friends.

Anyway, Jab We Met is an excellent movie where the story is described in an impressive way with the help of right environment and impressive acting of the actors. The expressions and the body language of the actors and the dialogues of the movie are enough to make you impress. Now, it is up to you; if you will watch the movie or not.

Jab We Met is coming to the screen on Friday. Starring Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor, the movie is based on romantic love story. Another specialty of Jab We Met is that the movie was shot in various locations of India and the cast and crew members had to cope up with new environment and different temperature which was not a easy task. For shooting a part of the movie, the whole Jab We Met team went to Rohtang Pass where they had to work during a sub zero temperature. The place is 13,400 above the sea level. So, upon the arrival of the whole team, director Imtiaz Ali called a day off so that the cast and crew members could assimilate with the new environment.

In contrast, Jab We Met team members had to bear scorching heat as well for the shake of shooting for the movie. No doubt, it was really problematic for the actors and crew members of the team to go under cold and heat within few days. A song was shot under the 50 degree Celsius in Mandava near Jaipur. Special air conditioned vans and busses were arranged for the actors and the team members. The team completed the four day shooting within two days because of such heat. Now, let us see if such hard work of all the members of Jab We Met is paid off in the box office.
