U, Me aur Hum: Music review

April 08, 2008 By: admin Category: Uncategorized

Movie: U Me aur Hum

Lyricist: Munna Dhiman

Music Director: Vishal Bharadwaj

Singers:
Adnan Sami
Shreya Ghosal
Sunidhi Chauhan
Vishal Bharadwaj

Music review:
The music album of U, Me, aur Hum contains six songs. The interesting thing about the album is that it does not have any remix versions but not all the songs are equally enjoyable.

Jee Le:
Latino prelude with flamenco guitar sets the mood. Adnan Sami starts the song softly and then picks up the tempo and suddenly you hear the drumbeats and a host of other instruments used in latino music. Imagine a salsa dancer starting slowly and then with a twist starts to dance around. Shreya Ghosal’s soft romantic voice just infuses more romantic feeling into the song. Adnan and Shreya sound great. This is the song worth hearing a thousand times.

U, Me, aur Hum:
This is a soft romantic song. Upon hearing this song, Ajay Devgan could not hold his tears. He requested director Vishal Bharadwaj to include the regular and unplugged version in the album. Shreya Ghoshal sung the regular version. Slow jazz type music, interspersed English rap make it a bit different to hear. Asif Ali beg wrote the English lyrics. Many complained that without the English rap, the song would have been better.

U, Me, aur Hum (unplugged version):
This unplugged version is sung by Vishal Bharadwaj. The interesting thing is Vishal’s voice gives you a feeling that a young man is singing the song.

Saiyaan:
Remember “Arey Hai Hai Yeh Majboori” from Roti Kapda aur makan? This song is more or less that type? A song where a wife is complaining about her husband not paying attention to her. Sunidhi sounds just ok.

Phatte:
A bhangra song mixed with techno bits. It is a typical dance floor song. I did not find it very enjoyable. If you are Punjabi song fan then you might like this song.

Dil Dhakda Hai:
It is the dance floor song where you see Ajay Devgan getting drunk and dance around the bar. It is just another fast track peppy song.

Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol Still Most Popular on-screen Pair of Bollywood

March 17, 2008 By: admin Category: Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol are still the dream pair of Bollywood. The two most popular actors have churned out many super hit films for in Bollywood including Baazigar (1993), Karan Arjun (1995), Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (1995), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998) and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001). Interestingly, the two last appeared on the big screen in the lead roles in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (they were seen in last year’s Om Shanti Om, where Kajol made a special appearance).

The good news for the Bollywood fans is that Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol are going to appear together in Karan Johar’s next film Khan. Karan Johar had approached Kajol a female lead role for his last film Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna that Kajol turned down because she was not interested to stay abroad for about 90 days leaving her child Nysa. Kajol signed for the movie Khan last December.

Sawf News reported:

“Yes, Kajol is doing my film and I’m very happy… ,” he said triumphantly.

Recalling how he failed to rope in Kajol opposite Shah Rukh in Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, Johar said, “She hadn’t turned down my film, per se. I needed her to shoot out of the country for ninety days and she didn’t want to leave Nysa for such a long time.”

“This time around I told her, ‘I need you. You just have to do my film.’ That was it,” he added.

As per an ongoing online pool that Sawf News is conducting shows that Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol are still most popular on screen pair of Bollywood. The second place goes to Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif on screen chemistry. Akshay and Katrina presented two super hit films: Namastey London and Welcome last year. That is why, the on screen chemistry of Akshay and Katrina are getting popular among the fans. Now, let us see if the charming presence of Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol brings box office success for Khan and Karan Johar makes some quick cash in.

Ajay Devgan, Kajol and Main Tum Aur Hum

December 29, 2006 By: admin Category: Bollywood

It seems that Ajay Devgan and Kajol are going to do a lot of things in their new film Main Tum Aur Hum. Working with wife is always a nice thing to do and Kajol is a great wife and great actress. So, in this movie, Ajay Devgan is going to:

Be the hero (lead male character)

Direct

Story writer

Most probably produce

Indiafm wrote:

The film will star himself and opposite him will be his wife, Kajol. Ajay and Kajol have done a number of films together which include Dil Kya Kare, Ishq, Pyar Toh Hona Hi Tha and the relative fiasco Raju Chacha. Main Tum Aur Hum is based on a story written by Ajay Devgan himself. Ajay has roped in cinematographer Aseem Prakash Bajaj (who shot with him in Zameen and Golmaal) for his directorial debut. According to Aseem, the plot will is very touching and romantic. It talks about love, commitment, and the institution of marriage, something that Ajay-Kajol will easily be able to identify with.

We will have to wait another many months to see how Ajay handles so much pressure in one film. Well, I can say one thing for sure: Kajol will help him all the way. So, he just needs to work hard and get inspired from Kajol and not look at any other actress.
